LifeTown in Livingston provides safe and controlled, real-world environments where neurodiverse children and teens can practice core skills, run daily errands and discover real-life work opportunities as part of their educational curriculum. Volunteers act as a “shopkeeper” in the 15 stores in the LifeTown Shoppes, helping with projects, ringing up a purchase and accepting payment, explaining dentist’s and doctor’s offices, and more! Loose Ends aims to ease grief, create community, and inspire generosity by matching volunteer handwork finishers with textile projects people have left undone due to death or disability. The Warehouse NJ helps individuals and families who have experienced homelessness successfully transition into new apartments with donated furniture, household items and other essential needs. Help is needed collecting and moving furniture, moving clients in, and organizing collected items. Children age 12 and over are welcome with their family, all volunteers must be able to climb stairs.
